I've just got an Escort Mk2 axle to fit to one of my pickups. Does anyone have any advice on fitting it to the springs? Do I use 'scort U bolts etc or what? Sorry, this may end up being a repeat posting - tried it last night, but it didn't seem to work...

If you contact the Bath Centre or JLH they can supply the bits you need.

Exceellent - presume you mean the "other" Morry centre, not Charlie Wares! Bath is in spitting distance, so that's great news - I've got to head out that way for loads of car related bits and bobs v.soon anyhow!

1971 pickup someone made out of a van, 1963 pickup being lovingly "restored", 1971 pickup hiding (chassis) in the garage, engine and box in the shed, body - in the garden/already scrapped... Oh, and they're called Daisy, Grace and Arthur!

The (Heritage Approved) Bath Minor Centre sells all the Owen Burton stuff, including replacement axle saddles, if you need them (not sure whether your axle will fit straight onto Minor springs).

I think the Minor u-bolts will be too narrow for your axle.

They sell various lengths of Escort u-bolt and they sell lowering blocks too, if thats your thing. Cheap too!

I've just fitted a set of these u-bolts and lowering blocks to my own Pick-Up.
Mine has a Toyota axle!

Mine has a MK2 Escort axle. All the bits were from JLH in Leamington.

Excellent - looks like I'll be bashing the phone and the credit card tomorrow. Next question's going to be about props and shortening, but don't hold your breath, I've not decided on/ got the box yet, and still can't make my mind up whether to sully the Morry engine bay with another makers engine ... I know the 1275's a good engine, but...

You can get a prop made up with virtually any ends on it. Mine is from a Sierra 5-speed 'box to a MK2 Escort axle.

I used a place in Coventry, but I'm sure there will be a prop specialist near to you........
