Soon to be owner saying hello

Well I am soon to be an owner of a 55 (I think) split screen convertible, have found it sitting in a garage......half stripped, been there since 1974. Can't tell as yet what the condition is as the garage is soo jam packed I couldn't physically get in!
Hopefully picking it up in a fortnights time, so stand by for loads of questions.
Richard.

No pics yet, could not get into the garage to see it properly, the current owner parked it in the garage in 74 with a view of doing a bit of work on it, front wings are off... But it comes with a new pair, engine is out....but it comes with three.
I could not even see inside to see what state the floor pan is, wish me luck....I may need it.

You may be pleasantly surprised, the early cars seem to be better painted or built with better steel and survive very well.

Keep a photo record of everything and each stage. Get lots of photos of it in the garage, in its decrepit stage, as we like to see them, especially barn finds.
I agree with MarkyB's theory on split-screens, esp. black ones, surviving very well. The paint, though susceptible to bad fading over the years, is pretty tough.

Ah Ah, Good play with words there Jowett.
You will find loads of help and encouragement on here Richard.
Just do not be too think skinned because they can be a bunch of lighthearted jokers too. However all great people.
Welcome,
