Hi just renewed my classic policy for my Lambretta and noticed at the bottom of the valuation form.
"The absence of an current MOT certificate may lead to a settlement based on market value"
my bike is 1957 and needs no MOT (tho I will get one).
This has major implications for those with agreed value on pre 1960 motors
AGREED VALUATION???????

Re: AGREED VALUATION???????
Think this is a standard clause. Just ring your insurance broker and query it.

Re: AGREED VALUATION???????
I have just renewed my Classic bike insurance on my 58 Triumph Tiger Cub and at the same time raised the agreed value by another 10% with no change to my premium and no issue raised by my insurer, so I do not see any issue doing this to my car when renewal is due and also my other pre 60 bike ,I tend to raise their values every couple of years as a matter of course with no problem, I occasionaly get sent the wrong paperwork that states market value but one phone call and it all gets sorted to show the agrred value

Re: AGREED VALUATION???????
The subject of MOTs for pre 1960 cars has been discussed at length on this forum and to the best of my knowledge at no time has any insurance company stated that they require a current MOT for continued Agreed Value cover

Re: AGREED VALUATION???????
Just to echo what Mike has said. FJ would not require a pre 1960 vehicle to be MOT'd in order to maintain an agreed value.
The same valuation form is probably used for pre and post 1960 vehicles and, as such, is probably a standard document.
