Front chassis leg, part replacement?

Hi, I'm restoring slowly 'Martha' a 68 2door, and have replaced the o/s boxing section, outer sill and inner sill- next step is the front chassis leg, which is rusted along 10" from the front. Question is, the rest of the chassis leg is solid (hammer tested) and i really don't want to replace the whole leg if I don't really need to- I have a new section from EMS, and I've looked at numerous replacements on the net and it looks straightforward, but no one seems to have attempted a section replacement.
Any thoughts?
Ps I may have downloaded this twice![frame]

All looks pretty rotten to me - and the front crossmember too... Change the whole thing - it will be less hassle in the long run, and a new front crossmember...

all depends on how sure you are that the rearward part is sound,as others have said looks bad,but after cleaning off may be ok,you can see inside the legs to about the eye bolt from inside ,if you remove the gearbox cover, then you will have a better idea of how sound the leg is,if its ok to a good way forward of the eye bolt, then you could repair the forward section, after cutting off ALL of the rotton part. But the rest of the leg would have to be in VERY GOOD CONDITION before I would do this. And its not a bit more work its a lot more work to change the whole leg,but worth it in the end.

The replacement leg repair sections come in a couple of different lengths, as long as your happy the the rest is sound go ahead and use it. I fitted 2 half legs to my blue saloon years ago, they come with a sleeved part that you can plug weld and seam weld to give a good solid repair.

I did think when looking There would have been different lengths of repair sections as I remember years ago you used to be able to buy 1/2 sills and repair sections available for other makes of car like Ford for instance, but I couldn't find any half length bits for the Moggy. I've knocked seven bells out of the chassis leg and it is solid, the worst corrosion is the very front and someone has jacked the car up using this area and its dented in. I've got new x member panels to go on, I must say the Moggys superb to work on compared to modern cars!

sorry to dig this up - I noticed that one of my front chassis legs is slightly dented in due to (what I imagine) is someone jacking it up there before. is the dent a structural issue or just cosmetic (ie. should I be bothered about it?)
