Just wondering if this system will work ,I'm thinking the two little olives that I presume fit on the nylon tube will not hold? anyone with experience of this set up ,please let me know[frame]

I'm trying to recall where I've seen this material used before but can't. Make sure you fit the olives round the right way.

You need to check the tapers in the nut to see if they match. The steeper taper usually faces the nut, if you have it the shallow way round the olive can often start to come through the hole in the nut slightly and not be as effective at pushing the olive into the tube. If you 'dry' assemble it you will probably see the best option for your particular situation.

I have the same black nylon tube and olives that I first put in 40+ years ago! They work.

The olives are known as universal olives, unlike standard olives that have ends that are mirror images, the olives you have are designed to grip the nylon tube without crushing it which standard olives would.
First engineered by Benton and Stone who became Enots of Lichfield in Staffs, also original makers of the Enots thread form used in brake systems.
They also make beautiful fuel filler caps for sports cars.

Thread the nut onto the tube, flat end first, threads to the closer end of the tube. Thread the olive onto the tube, flat end to the nut, taper to the closer end of the tube.
At this point, everything will be loose, sliding up and down the tube.
insert the close end of the tube into the fitting that mates with the threaded nut. be sure the tube "bottoms" in the fitting.
keep things snug, and finger tight the nut/olive/tube into the fitting. use a wrench and go about 1/4 to 1/2 turn more.

I have that setup on my Mog and have been using it without problems for years. I have also used it on many other cars and it is up to the job.
