My every day car is not a well chap so I have had to use my 61 ragtop for work for the last two days, it has not stopped raining and blowing a gail! The thing is that WDW has not seen a winter for about twenty years so no real test on how the wipers, lights etc would cope. I have to say I am well impressed, lots more concentrating, a tad drafty and a few scary moments on my 35 mile round trip to Pontllanfraith and back in the p***ing down rain. Jobs this summer will include plumbing the heating in and sorting the fan, sort seal on windscreen and new catches for the front quarter light windows. I take my hat off to the people on here who do use their minors every day what ever the weather.

having been using my saloon daily for a while, i though it was time to swap and use my rag top, give her an airing and a staring moment in the new morse (as a pre '65 car)-- the temptation to have the roof down in all weathers is huge, though i did regret it when i got snowed on ;)

Driving a Minor in the snow with the top down - heroic!!

Still without my daily drive so continuing to use the the minor, weather this morning looked pretty good until I left the house then the heavens opened, only for about five minutes thankfully. Two miles up the road and my oil pressure gauge is showing about 30 and oil light on, drop into local spar, bonnet up, not a drop of oil showing on the stick (last checked in the summer), spar has no oil so went to my local garrage who gave me a half gallon that was lying around. Oil pressure light now off and gauge showing about 60-70 lb so off we go. Not having a heater has not really been a problem this week as the temp has improved (last week was about -3 *C), front screen responds well to a good wipe with a dry cloth, more concerned about seat belts or lack off them, now pretty sure that if I were a daily MM driver rather than if needed or summer rallies I would be fitting them asap.

It will be good to see you about again this year.... Our Daffodil Run is on Sunday March 6th if you want to come again this year........

I find that driving with the drivers window open 2 inches, works well to demist the windows. But when raining, this often results in a wet side of the face.

Keeps you awake at 6:45am though

Doing 18 miles each way into the centre of Birmingham these days. Would be a boring commute if it weren't for the Minor!

I have tried everthing during the last week, drivers window open is a must when pulling out of junctions, however I have not been able to keep it open as its been extreme. On one drive home I had water hitting me from all angles, above dripping on my head, in the face from slight gap between front hood rail and body and drips on legs/feet from leeking windscreen when above 30 MPH. The wife thought that I had broken down and walked home. Hoping to do the Daf run, great last time, please have a word with the big chap again Ray, they tell me that the sun shines on the MM drivers.
