Dipstick Question

Can anyone tell me how to remove the dipstick tube please? The block is off to be rebored and I don't want to destroy the bottom of the tube in transit or in my cackhanded attempts to get it off

Grip it with a pair of mole grips, twist and pull

Yep, that worked. I think it's tapered so a bit of a pig to get going but job done. Thanks Mike

Roe's Engineering (very local, very old school) charge £24 a cylinder + the dreaded

Roy where I am it's between £25 and £40 per cylinder, I had re-bore, regrind, head and block skimmed and valves lapped all for £210.

Crikey.... not long ago up here it was £10 a bore....cash - no questions asked....

Maybe I'll buy a boring bar!

I paid almost the same as that. £25 per bore. £20 block re-face. £20 head skim and £25 for valve lapping. + Mr Osbornes slice.

Oselli have always done my rebores and currently charge for a four cylinder engines with bores up to 4" bore - 84 pounds plus VAT.
Pistons are extra.
