mg rostyles

Post by Henry.M »

would have posted this in the members section but seem to have misplaced my minor matters at the minuet.

Hi probibly a question that has been asked here several times before but how easy is it to fit mg rostyles to a morris minor?

While i am on the subject of alloys, i was also thinking about sticking porsche 924 alloys on the car which are 4 stud. i was thinking this as the porsche 924 has discs on front and drums on rear, could i potentialy put porsche drums and discs on my minor so that then i have alloy wheels and disc brakes without having to shell out over £300 for ford disc brakes in ESM.

a friend of mine has also offered me a set of alloys from a vauxhall firenza.they are 175/70 R13 6J quite wide i know ! :P but spacers are included but to fit them, i would need longer studs. is it more effort than it's worth ?

picture bellow is the 924 alloys (look much better after a clean ) [frame]Image[/frame]

For info, the members area is for Club related matters - other general Minor related posts such as this one should be posted in the open forum.

There's a thread here about alternative wheels: http://www.mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f= ... g+rostyles
Fitting alternative wheels can be dangerous - you need to make sure that they are the correct pcd.

Thanks Louise its just that I don't use this club forum enough and i know that others don't like technical questions to be open to non paying members.

The Firenza wheels may fit - check the pcd -if 4" then all you will need is correct wheel nuts to match the taper on the wheels. The others will NOT fit - at least not without fairly major modifications. Qs like this should be posted in the Technical area if you want good answers.

Don't know where you got that impression from :-? There's no point posting technical questions in the members area as they are unlikely to get any responses - as BMC has said, they should be posted in one of the technical forums.

other clubs, they often have a technical section locked to non paying members and really don't like having too much technical mentioned outside of the members area or otherwise people just abuse the clubs, particuarly if they are smaller clubs. i haven't really been in the members bit before so i assumed there would be a large technical page in there.

There's nothing very 'technical' about a Morris Minor !
