Rear Seat Cover-Conversion

Hi.
I am not new to this site but have had to re-register. I have a Teal blue '71 Traveller with Limeflower interior, not to my liking.
I believe that the rear seats from a traveller and a saloon are different but I don't know by how much.
Does anyone know if the covers off a two door can(be made to) fit a traveller. In other words, if a saloons' seats were slightly bigger they could be reduced to fit a traveller but not if they were smaller.
Has anyone done this and before anyone suggests it, I can't afford to just buy new covers.
Any ideas anyone?

As far as I know, the covers are not interchangeable between the Traveller and the saloon. The rear seat rest is very different and whilst the base may look similar, it has to tilt which the saloon base does not. Best thing would probably be to look for a scrap Trafalgar Blue/Smoke Grey Traveller and buy then refurbish the interior from that. There is quite a lot of blue heat form seating out there.

Here's a set from another 2 door which will give you the front seats at least - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MORRIS-MINOR- ... 43b7c70bea

and some door cards http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Morris-Minor- ... 27ced31704 - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Morris-Minor- ... 27ced31b7a

Alternativley, search around for a scrap blue Traveller and build up your stock of spare parts too  Good Luck

if the seat covers are in good condition have you thought about colouring them.. there are a few on the market, i always thought they would not look good close up.. until i ripped up a seat cover on my convertible only to find that it had been coloured..

if you look at the bottom of this link you can see the results

I have tried in the past experimenting by unpicking a 2dr rear seat cover to see if it would fit a Traveller. The Traveller seat is wider at the bottom than the 2 dr so there's not enough "material".
