I'm uncovering some mysteries as I clean up my new Traveller. This piece is puzzling. It's right where the spare would rub against it. I can't figure out what it's for.[frame]

Its exactly that
to firmly hold the spare tyre in place

OK, it's making sense now. In the convertible, there is a rear bulkhead. Ah, Sooooo.
