wheel colour?

I was wondering, I was advised by a chap to paint my wheels silver, as they were when new, he said - is this correct? Were original Minor wheels (71 two door saloon) silver??

The saloons, Travellers, Convertibles between Oct '67 and November '71 had a dark silver (or silver grey) colour. The late Travellers had bright silver coloured wheels after Oct '70 to the end of production when the new colours like Aqua, Limeflower, Teal and Bedouin were introduced. - See Ray Newells' book 'Original Morris Minor' I hope this hasn't confused things!
