Im Back!!

I stopped "messing" with minors about 6 years ago after helping an old mate of mine restore his 2 door saloon, he had a tear in his eye when i drove it to his house, as he'd been getting ripped off by several cowboys year on year until we met by chance, and he asked me if i would take his "Wreck" on to restore.
I did the car over a 6 month period and found him to be a really great guy, with an interesting past, and although he was a good 25 years older than me, we became good friends, so much so, i hardly charged him for my labor despite spending many hours welding his wreck back to health.
He had called his car Nelly for some reason, (not his wife's name?) so when this one was complete, id sent of for some graphics saying Nelly 11, which he laughed at!
The car was pro painted (not by me!) and delivered to him with a brand new MOT, ready to enjoy.
He did all the shows that year, and loved the attention he got, always willing to talk the hind leg off you should you dare look under his ever open bonnet!!
Sadly he wasn't well, and several courses of chemotherapy didn't improve his health, and my last sight of him was in a private side ward of our local hospital, from which i was turned away from his bedside as "family only"
he died later that night.
I didn't have the heart to take on another minor, and have spent these last years messing with VW Beetles, but i feel im ready to mix with the Moggys again!
Im interested in either a traveler or a convertible project, although a good two door may tempt me as i could always chop the top off at a later date.
Id be happy to listen to what you have on offer and have scanned the for sale section tonight, but i really need a good bargain as i just dont have the same facilities as i used to have (Ive lost my welding equipment and have no rented premises to do my spraying) so any restoration may cost me more that the car may be worth.
Im looking for a car to keep, so please don't think im a trader, at 55 years old, i just dont have the energy i used to have, and want a car i can do to a great standard and spend my days pottering with it to keep on top of any repairs.
Cheers for now
paul
