You will only need one of them.
There is a slot around the filter housing that it fits into, the old one must be removed first.
Make sure that you recover circular plate and the spring that pushes it when you get the old filter out.
The plates sticks to the old filter and is hard to spot when it's all covered in oil.

Is the spring and plate there? And yes - put a bit of oil in the can when refitting - but not right to the top. You should have to push up against the spring when refitting - if not the spring is missing...

I fitted a coopers to my Minor and it fitted fine, mine is a '58 so same 948 running gear, although that makes no difference. I just compared the seal to the existing in the filter, and fitted it.

I think either will do - the Fram picture appears to be two or three different seals piled on top of each other. When you drop the filter can - you then dig out the old seal from the groove in the top mount -compare it to your new seals - and fit the one that is the SAME thickness. Stick it in with a little grease - then refit the can and tighten up - but NOT TOO MUCH !

Yup, the running makes the oil hot and less viscous (or thin) so it will come out quicker/easier/more plentiful.
Not strictly necessary I suppose but a very good idea!

YES to hot engine, but don't take the sump off - that is very extreme... It's not a 'nail' that you will remove - it is a SCREWED PLUG. Be careful to turn it the correct direction (anti clock) and when re-fitting it - DO NOT overtighten - just 'nip' it up sensibly....

I was a dope and didn't remove the old seal (I had a look for it, didn't realise it was so "deep" in the metal casing). So yes, remember to remove the old one - having two in wasn't fun!
