Hi
I'm just about to set up a 1275 midget engine, but need to know the correct size needle to run in an hif44 1 3/4 inch carb?
Correct information welcome!
I will be running k and n metro air filter.
Would I need different needle if engine was fast road one??
Thanks
PB

No one can tell you exactly - but try the BDL for a starting point and then work from there with plug colour checks - and ideally a 12 volt exhaust gas analyser so you can check on the cruise/charging up hill/flat out in top.....

NO! Always ask on here -others may well have better suggestions. The BDL is just the 'standard' starting point - it won't be perfect - every engine set-up is different.

It's a Marina lump. Standard not tweaked. Not a Midget lump as formerly mentioned....!!

You're gonna tell me a 1.5 cm diameter exhaust with 3 branch LCB ain't big enough next??!

I agree - 1.5 cm is smaller than standard - a pea-shooter in fact!

You need a 1.75 INCH to get the best from a 1275 engine.

However 1.5 INCH will be ok on a standardish Marina engine.......

Yes, Maniflow do a complete 1.75" system, or the LCB and rest of the exhaust separately.
