Just a quick mail to say hello to everyone!
I have a green 68' Minor 1000 saloon that really need some work to get it really shipshape! I bought it in May after deciding to give up motorcycling (160mph down to 50 or so is just safer!!) . Its roadworthy and i have been using it at weekends, but its very scabby with quite a few bodges needed repairing properly.
My plan is to build a carport and restore 'Myrtle' properley once i can use my garage space. It will be my first proper restoration and i cant wait to get started.
By the looks of it she has had a new floorpan fitted which is sound but has been welded onto the remains of the earlier floor. the wings look sounds, but the sills and boot have been well patched. Theres a lot of underseal on the cross members and around the spring hangers which look suspicious!
The engine runs sweetly and i have just serviced it really so far, but there is an oil leak from the gearbox area that will need sorting out. The good news is that i am absolutely smitten by the minor bug!
I'll upload a few images once i get underway with the resto (funds and carport allowing!)
