Oh, and cold lower radiator pipe...

When running the radiator stays cold for a while until, presumably, the thermostat opens, and then the top of the radiator gets hot - but even after a good ten minute idle with occasional throttle blips the bottom of the radiator feels cold... shouldn't that get warm quickly too?

Perfectly normal - the 'radiator' is working - although of course - it doesn't actually 'radiate' the heat away! I thought you were a skool teecher - and know about all that stuff?? :roll:

lol - yes, a teacher (how do you know such things?) but the exact way a radiator works is for science teachers, not History teachers :D Ask me about 15th century politics then I'm your man.
