i have been getting a tool kit together for home diy on the morris, but was wondering what use ba spanners have? Can anybody tell me WHICH BA spanners I should need for any conceivable job on the car? id rather just buy individual good ba spanners rather than cheap set with loads in ill never use. thanks.

very useful for the odd nut and bolt plus some carb nuts etc I would not be without them even tho rarely used .

2BA is useful for hockey sticks, bonnet badges & other trim fixings

And those little nuts and bolts for glove box lids and other bits under the dash (some may be cross head bolts).
Strange numbering system, the smaller the spanner size the higher the number, ie a 2ba is smaller than a 0ba. I expect that someone will explain.

2BA, 4BA and 5BA are the most useful. As already said 2BA for the hockey sticks, and also odd things under/behind the dash, then 4BA and 5BA for the carburettor linkage fittings.

Smaller than 5BA is not required on a Minor, 1BA and 3BA are rarely used anywhere and 0BA is more or less the same as 10mm AF (if you already have metric spanners!), and not used on a Minor.

also it depends on what previous owners have fitted,as almost all old moggies have had more than one owner

The little nuts in the distributor use 2 or 4BA size. Saves destroying them with pliers.
