Rear seat frame changes between years?

Does anyone know how many different style rear seats were made for two door saloons/convertibles? I know the stitching of the covers often changed but I am asking about the frames themselves. I've searched the archives but I can't find an answer.

I purchased a set of new leather seat covers designed for 1960-1962 seats. I wanted leather and this was the closest year I could get. I thought they would fit on my 1967 frames but no go. The covers look great but shipping to the States was 45 pounds and it took BM 10 weeks so I don't really want to return them. I now need to buy a rear seat pair in the States. Other than 1960-1962 seats will my covers fit any other years?

Thanks,

George

What a pity. Is it possible for you to take a picture of your seats frames for us to take a look at? It's amazing how many cars have been fitted with the wrong seats over the years. I think it was mostly if their seat broke their just fitted what was to hand at the time.

The rear seat changed at the same time as the heat-moulded upholstory was introduced. This was some time in 1964. Prior to the changeover the rear seat had an arched top to it, later rear seats were straight across the top. Leather upholstory was phased out when the duotone upholstory was introduced in late 1961.

Thanks for the help. I think my seats are the original 1967 seats that came with the car. It's my fault since I wanted leather. I first recovered the front seats and that was not a problem. Here you can see my seats and also the new cover.
