Can any one remember "castrollo" upper cyl. lubricant

Post by smithskids »

I still have a considerable amount of this left that I use on my sidevalve engined Morris cars it seems to be as good as the unleaded petrol additives, never had any valve trouble although I also give the exh't v/v increased clearance like bmc ecosse

yes I do remember only it was also sold as red-x .I used to work in a murco garage it was 1d per shot (240 per £1) And petrol was 2* =4s/6d 3*=4s/8d 4*=4s/10d as murco is the cheap end of the distillation we didn't stock 5*

The good thing about petrol being 4/10 gallon was being handed a Pound note and " 4 gallons and keep the change son ". And I would give them 4 free shots of Redex.............
