Avoiding salted roads seems to be the order of the day.
That being the case, just about everything on the mog is greased and oiled where required ready for winter storage, however are there any special areas of attention if a car is to be stored for just a few months?

fuel . drain the carb , this will prevent that orange clay crud forming and blocking it all up all your jets and ting.
Personally I think they are the best cars for winter use, skinny wheels , no power , rubbish brakes ,insurance deals like the one i've got , cheap spares ,easy to fix.
Just smother the underside with paint and underseal and away you go ,Drifting .

Will it be garaged?
Make sure there is enough anti-freeze anyway.

For a few months?--do nothing! I left mine virtually all last winter, then it just had to look at the key and away she went! Can't beat Minors for reliable no nonsense motoring. There's not even a gauge to look at , to spoil a nice drive! Yes anti- freeze a good idea.

Laying up? What? What is this madness! You expect me to walk to work?!

Blow the tyres up extra hard. Fit a solar charger (Maplin £9.99) to keep the battery up. DO NOT apply the handbrake. And if possible - roll the car back and forth once a month to save the tyres getting flat spots. Leave the windows open a small amount - but take great care to make sure MICE don't get into the car!! And obviously make sure the antifreeze is good. Some say to fill the petrol tank - to prevent condensation rusting out the top of the tank...... -

Leave handbrake off (chock wheels if on an incline), inflate tyres slighter more than usual and push the car out now and again to prevent tyre flat-spots, disconnect battery, turn engine on handle now and again but do not start it. Leave a note on drivers' seat reminding you of the changes you made which need to be reversed/things checked before bringing it out of hibernation.

Mine will be out all winter running the 'new' engine in.

You missed the solar charger. 8/10 Must do better........

I normally run down the fuel tank to very low and then put premium petrol in as no Methanol is in this type of fuel I have done this for at least 5 years on various old bikes and now my Morris and I have had no problems at all with the carb blocking up

You can buy an additive from lawnmower shops you can put in the petrol tank that keeps it in good nick and stops it going off and losing its volatility so I am told.

i just use mine on a dry day that way things dont seize up all waxoiled underneath

I think laying them up means more things to do next Spring!. Use ours all year round - in fact I've just come back from shopping in my 2dr. Lights, wipers, heater all working, but that's what thery were built for - to be used.
