A convertible would be MAT5/ Are you sure that it is not a conversion, in which case the chassis number of the original 2 door would be MA2S5/123xxxx

What's the body number?

The chassis number stamped into the o/s footwell should match that displayed on the 'phillips self tapper' affixed chassis plate.
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

Why should some 1965-71 Traveller's have their chassis numbers stamped into the front b/head, whilst other's have their's on the
o/s cab floorpan?

Answer this and win a 'Blankety Blank Chequebook & Pen'!

The OP hasn't logged on here since any of the responses were posted so may not have even seen them yet Mike.

Maybe it's because they were built at different factories?

To my knowledge t'was either Cowley or B'ham from mid '65-TEP!

Have seen a '65 with the cab floor chassis stamp(Cowley) & likewise '69-TEP's(B'ham) - IS there a definitive answer to this?
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!
