Hi
For my dad's 50th I got an old broken minor speedo and turned it into a clock. I have other Speedos to do
This too and was wondering if anyone here was interested in this unique item. You can see my dad's one in the
Picture.
As a clock collector, ive got approx 50 mantle clocks ,20 wallclocks and 3 grandfather clocks plus a convertible minor , i like the idea , its a nice touch and a novelty gift for any minor owner as long as the speedo,s you use are definately beyond repair and likewise the clock that was once sitting in the case, i want one
Yeah Speedo was bought of eBay broken and I put a quartz clock mechanisms where the mechanical drive housing was and the clock housing is custom built by my dad as he is a joiner. Here's a lorry one I made for someone else.[frame][/frame]
Ah rite i see i was wondering because all clock movements can be different diameters from make to make so that answers my query, so what would you be chargeing for a minor one out of curiosity?
I have just started to make them. I would be looking for about £40 +pp but price ain't set in stone
Time scale would be hard to establish as I can't tell when a broken speedo will appear
...... and if your fuel gauge gives up you'll always have a spare one in the clock!!.......

It is a very fine looking clock, I love the wood you used for the casing, what is it?
