I have looked at other posts but just wanted to check something. I have bottom anchor points on the cars floor under the seat with backing plates, and the top in the middle of the parcel shelf, again with thick backing plates - but not sure about distorting the metal? What I mean is since these backing plates on the parcel shelf are constantly being pulled won't it distort the parcel shelf, and eventually the window aperture? Wouldn't it be better to have the top anchors right in the corners of the parcel shelf? These are for statics by the way, cant stand big ugly retractable ones lol

The parcel shelf will be fine provided you keep or renew the backing plates. It would take a very strong person to distort the window aperature.

I fitted statics and bolted them in the corners as you suggest, not least because there are holes there (on my 65 1098 at least), I think from memory I drilled them out slightly.
If it will wait I will happily take photos at the weekend for you.

The first photo shows inside the boot.
I have fitted the anchor points just above the wing nuts that hold the rear seat back in place, I think I bored out exisiting holes to accomodate the small alloy sleeves you get with the seat belt kit.Apologies for the blurring[frame][/frame]
The second photo shows the same with rear seat back removed,inside the car[frame][/frame]
The third shows the bolts and support plates under the rear wing, I mention this as my kit did not come with sufficient support plates, 2 required for the bolts through the tunnel (not pictured) and 2 for the wings.
Because of the drilling I slapped grease on liberally on the tunnel mounts and wing mounts after fitment.
