Up on the ramp

I've got my car on the hydraulic lift tomorrow for a winter check-under.
Advice please: previously I replaced the rubber bushes in the rear spring shackles and want to know how tight they should be. The shackle plate before the new bushes were added were so tight at the top as to be ridged against the chassis. However, now one spring sits slightly forward of the other (slightly skewing the rear axle which I suspect was because i didn't apply a working load before tightening them) I just need to know if the shackle plates should be free floating or hard tight?

If you have all the correct parts they will be "free floating".
Notice that the shackle pins have a shoulder on them, (index # 42)

The axle won't be skewed - it trails from the front mounts which haven't moved........ If one side is sitting lower than the other - you can level it by fitting longer shackle arms. 1" longer lifts that side by 1/2"......
