Hi
I want to buy a set of carpets, but the seller recon that the 1969 carpet set will not fit my 1960 Morris Minor. Is there a difference in size between the 1960 and the 1969?
Thanks

Hi,
Body wise I think they were the same, so I'd of thought they would fit fine. Where are you buying them from?
Regards,
Mike.

Saloon carpets remained unchanged on the Minor 1000 (late '56 through to '71) but as already suggested check out the various Minor parts suppliers and/or trim manufacturers Newton Commercial for confirmation. You might find that a cheaper carpet set doesn't fit particularly well and if the seller is telling you that it won't fit a '60 Minor probably best to find out what their exchange policy is before purchasing, just in case.

Only physical differance I can think of, is when was the rear ashtray mounted on the transmission tunnel introduced? And factory fitted seatbelt mountings, but these are only small holes and if its a new carpet set it wont have them, and if its s/h it probably wouldn't show.
Later cars originally had very different carpet sets with one piece mats across the front and the rear footwells, but no manufacturer has remade ones to that pattern so not really relevant.

My '58 has the transmission tunnel ashtray, but I'd put money on it being a later addition..
Bit of a nuisance as I don't smoke, currently a holder for spare fuses and spare change
