Did you stand at the front of a long queue in the Post Office and say in a loud, clear voice " Can I have my free tax disc please?"

I read about this as well but how would they implement it? I can't see it being a workable option either.
They'd have to fit trackers in the car of everyone in the country and surely that's an infringement of our civil liberties?
Best wishes,
Mike.

We're all safe, then. You don't know what is hidden in a modern car.

They are already fitted and called number plates, keep your eyes open for how many cameras there are over major roads and pinch points like bridges and tunnels.

Some ANPR cameras dont auto recognise White/Chrome on black number plates ( local supermarket car park for example ). Think the DfT ones are the all singing type and do. Mind you a std moggie on motorways is to be pitied and should not really be there for its own sake.

I had a conversation about this in work today, sorry to say that I do think that its a good idea, cannot get my head around this free tax for modern cars that may well be doing 100K a year, seems silly to me as they are using the roads, creating the potholes etc just like the rest of us. Yes I know your gonna tell me about pollution but I personally think thats bulls**t, just google how much a field full of cows create or what China/USA/India thinks of it all. If we were not already paying silly amounts of tax on the fuel we use this would be the way to go, a real pay as you use system, however there would be riots in the streets if an additional tax was added to petrol.

I wonder if the biggest hullabaloo would come from Transport/Haulage cost increases, that would therefore be passed on to us via increased delivery costs of all the goods we purchase?
Thats why it may never happen.

It's ridiculous, petrol at 135p/per l., over 80p is tax, and they want to push this up again.

Every year it's the same: tax, tax, tax, tax. Yet these increases cannot go on indefinitely.

What people don't understand is that the economy cannot go on expanding, it must reach a limit and even contract (as it is doing).

Rubbish. I'm the project manager for Rolls-Royce (BMW) and we plan our model year update 4-5 years in advance. We have lot of new mandatory updates for 2015, but this isn't one of them.

working for rolls royce is completly different to owning one.

I restored my dad's Trav with him, and since he passed away I've kept the car and always will. It's not as good as a RR, but it's more fun to drive and cost a lot less.

I used to help build supertankers but I couldnt get one on the drive
Actually the Mog was described by Autocar as a Rolls Royce for the working man, quite right too.
