After a 14 year resteration project my 1964 MM Traveller has passed its MOT now I need to get it taxed as an Historic vehicle for wich apparently I need a letter from MMOC as proof of age. Who do I need to speak to?

I didn't need a letter, the year of manufacture is on the V5c.

Both the date of manufacture & DoFR should be on the logbook (V5c). Former on the MoT print-out(?).

Who said a letter showing 'proof of age' was required?

If you go to your local DVLA office armed with MOT, insurance cert and the V5c (clearly pointing out the year of manuf) they will give you a form to change the car to historic status. They will do it there and then on the pc.

hi Simon
and on leaving the post office you get that glow/warm /content feeling that you have in no small way been paid to look after your Moggie and keep her running for the future

All Sorted the V5c was all that was required. My MM Traveler is now ON THE ROAD. It only took 13 Years.

Thanks to all for your advice
