engine swap

i have just bought another minor van which has been fitted with marina front uprights and a mk1 ford capri axle....but no engine/gearbox.what would a good engine/box to put in it?.i know everyone puts A series engines in minors but these are getting hard to find......i was thinking of a small diesel engine......any idea's?.
the van has had the firewall shifted back a few inches and its been converted to cable clutch.
any thought/advice woold be muh appreciated.

A series 1275 (midget / marina / ital) are not that hard to find - and still not too expensive.
Small Diesels however are a lot harder to find - the additional cost will be paid for eventually if you do a lot of miles. Modern cars will have a the likes of a 1.4 Diesel which would be ideal for a Minor after you have sorted out the lack of suitable RWD engine mount points and the nightmare of ECU's, wiring looms, sensors etc..
Therefore most people stick to older Diesels (which tend to be bigger and heavier) - which means that it is a rare conversion.

i know everyone puts A series engines in minors but these are getting hard to find......
Dont forget the later standard engine`s are also `A` series
