Hi,
Can any one give me some advice? today I have stripped down the rear brake cylinder for refurb on a 56 4 door I am restoring and after removing the banjo bolt and bleed nipple noticed like a rubbery substance in the banjo, nipple and cylinder managed to remove it out of the banjo and nipple but not the cylinder any idea how to remove / clean out the crap I have removed the hand brake lever and piston to fit new seal

Any advise or is buying new cylinders the only option?

Thanks
John

Just buy TWO new cylinders - and then you know the brakes will be good for a year or two......

For the price of a new cylinder v the time and effort of repairing an old one, I would replace it.
