Locking left door handle

Post by gatsby989 »

Morning all,

I have a 1959 two-door, LHD. It has an external lock only on the right hand door. Which is a bit annoying.
Is it possible to put a post-'64 left hand locking handle on it? I've read in some cases you don't need a whole new door, just drill a hole for the lock barrel? I don't suppose a van rear handle would do the job?

Thanks!

Apparently you can fit a LHD external lock as on later LHD models - my Traveller is a 1970 so had them on both sides. I was told you can keep your door but will have to drill a neat hole. You'll have to find a lock somewhere on ebay (or from one of the suppliers) if you don't have one.

Good luck

Later RHD passenger doors also had the aperture for key entry. :D
