quick question

hi just a quick question what size is the nut that holds the steering wheel on a 1957 saloon to the column.

Hi give it a crack with a chisel . sounds barbaric but does work.

Or for a more delicate approach you could use a centre punch....

Don't use a chisel! 3/4" Whitworth socket will do the trick + a bit of elbow grease

And soak it in WD40 if its rusty.

Use a socket, only those with 50+ years experience can make a tidy job using a chisel/ centre punch
You know it makes sense

Hi,
I have 1963 1000 saloon, if it is the same size, I use a 35mm socket which fits very well and saves butchering it with a chisel....... mine still bears the scars from a previous owners attempts to get it off in this way.....

Driving down the M1 this morning there seemed to be nuts of all shapes & sizes holding steering wheels......
