Hi all, the MOT on my 1958 moggy (Mavis), expires october31st, as does the tax disc. I think the new regs come in on the 18th Nov. Whilst I intend on getting the old girl MOT'd time is running out on me so can I get a new tax disc without a new MOT certificate before the end of Oct. or can I wait until the 18th without a tax disc or sorn'ing the vehicle?? any suggestions, dave

I would have thought the answer is no you can't tax it because you have no MOT as things stand now. IE if regs wern't changing you would have to have an mot to cover you from 1st November when the tax started. So I think you will hav 18 days in limbo.

BUT you say you are going to mot car anyway so why not just mot it as you would have done last year. You can present your car up to 28 days before your current mot expires and you will get tghe remaining days added on to the new mot assuming it passses
