What Colour?

Post by TimJNV »

A project to restore a morris minor traveller that has been running for some near 20years and I will soon probably be taking responsibility for a lot of the work I like working to originality (currently working on a 1960 4 door separate thread will appear).

I have very little information as to a build date. just that i have been told we think its 1964, the registration is 1973(?) the interior is red and looks like it is pretty original and the body colour looks to be a darker grey. what I would like to know what colours were used for travellers with red interior that would be correct?

If the interior is the original red then for the year (64) it could have been Rose Taupe (my Traveller) which in some lights appears a blue/grey, but in bright sunlight is in fact a pink/brown. The only other colours with a red interior were black or Old English White (cream)

Thanks for that, it confirms what we thought, (and would be my preferred choice) am I correct the coachlining should be red? as it is currently white (though we are a long way from worring about it haha!). I will have find chassis number to confirm for certain the year.
