How to Lower the Saloon Rear Windows Fully

Post by Trickydicky »

Hi Chaps,

Need to replace the felt seals on the rear windows, I am going to replace the outer felts with the more modern ones that touch the glass. I have had a feel around in the door mechanism but can`t seem to find the "stop" that prevents the window from winding down fully.

Please, Please dont tell me that the only way is to remove the glass

Anyone done this recently?

Richard

There is a stop, well there should be. But even removing that doesn't allow the window to drop fully. The curve of the wheelarch makes it a physical impossibility. Frame off job I'm afraid...

I was able to fit mine without doing this. I lowered the window, removed the inside one first, and then removed the original outer. i was then able ti fit the new one with a bit of fiddling.
