Spotted this gearbox on the american ebay...

he says 1966 Minor! He has listed 2 gearboxes, one 'from spares car' and one 'from car as I am fitting V6 running gear'
For both gearboxes he used the same photo :roll:

I bet he used to have a bench seat fitted and braked so hard the middle passenger reshaped the gear lever :wink:

I gues he's done that so he can carry it: one hand in the bellhousing the other on the bent gear lever.
I can't see how you could get 1'st and 3'rd with the lever like that!

That looks like an "unribbed" casing (948cc style) so the 1966 bit must be a bit suspect.

I have a gearleaver like that on my van!!

But mine is not a std gear box - its all datsun (motor and box), but I still haven't actually figured why its so bent - it comes up the right hole in the floor but has quite a bit of slack so I figue its so you can get 2nd, 4th and reverse without hitting the seats.
