Extra Gauges

I know this has been discussed *loads* of times on here, but having given up on the company that supplied my water temperature gauge ever supplying the voltmeter to go with it, I've got myself a secondhand batch of Smiths' instruments (water temp, oil pressure, volts)...

Now, I've got the sender for the water temp. and the oil-pressure gauge pipe.

So, uh, what I want to know is:

I believe you can attach a T-piece to the oil-filter doobry, so that you can keep the oil pressure warning light as well as having a gauge (I'm nothing if not paranoid) - does anyone know where can you get a T piece (or am I being mad)...

And....

Any idea where I could get an adapter for the sender to fit into the block? It's a different size to the sender from my SunPro instruments... And what size the outer (hole in the block) diameter should be?

Any answers would be *much* appreciated....

try a Mini autojumble - it's the kind of thing they get through by the bucketload.

As Ray says an autojumble should yield the best choice.

BUT having said that I recently got a Smiths oil pressure gauge with pipe for £2 from a fair, but no T piece/converters. I went to my little local motor shop and was offered a selection of no less than 3 T piece kits and a host of converters!

In the end I had the T piece kit (for £2.50) and didn't need any converters (though one converter was actually included in the T piece pack).

My T piece screws straight into the block, the oil pressure pipe goes in one side, and the warning light sender goes in the other.
You may also find that the pressure sender is in fact the right size. It may be a taper fit so does not need to screw in all the way, just until tight ish or so. Mine is like this and does not leak a drop.

Hope this helps and is not just waffle!

Cheers

Just try your local mini specialist they will have all the right bits or if you dont have one try Demon Tweeks as they sell all the bits and often have outlets within Halfrauds

I got mine from Minispares or Minisport. I think they both do them.
