Hello all, i am putting together a list of things needed for 'Yoda' and looking into the wheels to either change to some alloys or to increase the width of the standards.

i know that the standard wheel pcd is 4" (101.6mm) but other then minilites which look a bit busy for my liking i struggle to find anything in the 13 or 14" variety, can anyone enlighten me as to how i can alter the pcd to ford or mgf or something of the like or perhaps point me in the direction of some alloys that i have missed.

any input idea's would be welcome as i am trying to find the wheels i would be most happy with (would even consider 15" as long as i don't have to have low profile tyres)

must say, ive been having the same trouble. Slotmags seem to suite the moggy & sometimes pop up on fleabay... was tempted at that route myself.

The van wheels are wider and keep the original look

It's an expensive job to change the pcd - stick with the 4" and save up for decent wheels that fit. Probably the cheapest way is to go for Marina front hubs with discs and a Marina (or Dolomite) back axle. MGF / Triumph wheels will then fit.

Two main options for easily obtainable new, wider wheels.

The marina and dolamite suggestion is nice to hear,i was toying with the idea of banded steels to keep the original look but is costly

also would the marina/dolamite rear axle accept a 3.7 diff? and mate to a standard minor box

sorry if this is very obvious but basically what i am after is more rubber on the floor for the warmed up spridget 1275 and 3.7 diff i intend to put in it.

also i really like the slotmags but have only seen the 13" ones which is a bit small really, i know that wolfrace have brought some new ones out for the 40th anniversary but are 7" wide otherwise i would have bought them as they are blank and would be drilled to any pcd.

The Marina/Triumph axles have their own range of final drives - they do not take the A series final drive. And you will need a special prop shaft obviously.

hmmm thanks for the info Roy, as things are i think i may be sticking with the spridget engine and diff and either keeping an eye out for some slot mags, van wheels or widen what i have but either way i thank you all for your info and options

The wide wheels I linked you to are a bargain atm really, unlikely to get a powder coated set for less!

you don't need a special prop just change axle flange to marina one

and esm sell new hubs for front disc brakes

good luck finding some nice wheels

Oh - that's interesting - change the flange on a Minor prop shaft to a flange to match the Marina/Dolly axle? Is that enough? Is the prop the correct length? Still makes it a 'special prop' in my view - but fair enough if all it needs is the flange changed... Where to get the flange????

The marina diff has a longer nose, about an inch in it i think. I only know this as there's two prop shafts for ford five speed conversions, depending on what axle you're running. And they're shorter for the marina axle.

I think that is the other way round. The Marina is shorter by 1 inch.

thanks for the info again guys, shame about there only being two ratrod, this marina thing is quite confusing if i am honest which is why i chose to source a mg spridget axle and engine so that changing them over would be easier for someone like me who isn't confident on these things and i hear that the spridget is pretty much a straight swap.

i say a spridget axle as i am not sure if the diff from one would fit a minor axle, again probably a silly question/assumption

Ah, well certainly one is longer by an inch

Daddybear, the spridget diff can be fitted to the minor casing.
