Hi I've recently joined and live in the border village of Llanymynech. We've recently purchased Felix ( NFO 727 ) off flea bay from sunny Somerset (Frome). Having recently returned from a 2 week camping trip to Lizard point (324 miles) I did'nt think Frome was that far (just past Bristol - 180 miles).
Looked locally and on online and could'nt find anything suitable , or if I did it was well out of my budget hence the trip to Frome and back in a day (with trailer).
Our requirements were for something that needed a bit of work that my teenage boys could learn and understand the basics of mechanics, running a car , engine , gearbox , welding and bodywork. Felix fits the bill.
Keep looking , hope you find one soon , give me a shout if you see one and your struggling to get it back to Knighton. (did the Offa's Dyke a few years ago had a great night in the Horse and Jockey with Shane? and co)

I drive less than 2 miles from there every week (I go through Llynclys on the commute to Trawsfynydd). Someone living there was asking me (through ebay) about some trailer springs a few weeks ago.
If you need anything grabbing and bringing up from Hampshire/Sussex/Somewhere between give me a shout ;)

Matt, would you be working on un-building a certain former power station? I can't imagine another reason for such a long commute to nowhere. My better half is the EPE on the site, and doesn't know of a moggie on site. You obviously don't commute in a proper car!
Cheers, Phil

Although i'm not in Mid Wales, and appreciate you are in a very rural area of Wales. It maybe productive to do some research and find out how many MMOC members are in your area, You maybe able to get some information from the National Club. Which maybe able to help set up a branch somewhere in your area.

I've just joined so will help collate a list of members with you Rae and hopefully we can decide were to meet which is 'local' to all - dont mind Kington , Knighton , Montergomery. Unless of course there is already a Mid Wales group?

Sorry there is no MMOC mid Wales group
We have a Wales North (Mold, Flintshire), a Wales West (Gower) and a Wales South (based around Cardiff area)
If you can find enough like minded members perhaps you could appply to form a new Branch (Mid Wales)?

EPE?
Yes its where i'm working at the moment - and no I don't do it in a minor... it takes long enough and costs enough in a focus diesel which I run on used veg oil...
My minor (well any of the ones I have) just wouldn't survive well enough to make them viable (im doing about 45,000 miles a year at the moment!)
incidently... I have digs in Porthmadog so drive through Penrhyndrudraeth each evening so the courier offer stands for you too Phil... even though I haven't seen a minor there either!

Rae you don't have to have a moggie to join the National Club or a Branch. Good luck in your quest in forming a new branch. If you want to join us at our branch rally next year, contact the South Wales branch events sectretary, or log onto our new web site in a few weeks and download a form there.
