Well, it would not hurt to put little bits of tape on saying what goes where, but if you are electrially minded you can figure it out with a multimeter later anyway.

I think they are all colour coded. It's just that the colour fades on the old fabric covered ones. If you peel back some of the outer braiding you should still find it underneath where it's protected from light.

Had one car once where every wire was colour coded green! It did have coloured rings on the bullet connectors but thats not much help in the middle of the wiring loom!

Hi
There are a number of looms on the market.
Could I suggest you double check that you gaet the right one for your model.
A couple of years ago I had to get one for a 62 model. This was a transitional car (one that was between trafficator arms and the orange flashing indicators. Worked off an 8 way relay and the brake lights)
Well, supplier said it was the right one and of course I then found that there was no wiring within the loom for the 8 way unit.
Giving the chassis number should help. But as I say double check from experience.

When I'm taking wiring off I always number the wires with a sharpie - and take lots of photos.

Never had problems that way - And while a sharpie is perminant it's useful for future reference!
