Petition to bar MPs and Lords with criminal records

I hope this posting is allowed, and yes, I know there's petition fatigue generally but leading on from the idea the the new role of Police and Crime Commissioner requires candidates not to have a criminal record, (at least one Labour backed and conservative backed candidate have withdrawn their application for this reason) I checked and found that MPs and Lords can have criminal records. The Houses of Commons and Lords do not even ask and so don't know how many Lords/MPs have criminal convictions nor for what.
Since police and the judiciary have to have clean records I think it's only fair that government are held to the same high standard.
Anyhow, here's the petition

If you agree, please spare a moment to sign and tell your friends. As you probably know it takes 100,000 signatures to force a petition so it's a big request but there's a small possibility of making a difference right here.
Thanks
