hello , On a Black 1954 Series 2 with a cheese grater grill , should the grill be black or cream ? Mine is black as were the wheels , but repainting the wheels cream has made the car look much better ( well I think so any way ) and I think lightning the grill would relieve the dark effect of the black body, as on the later models. Any comments on the correct colour ? Regards Phil Burley

Phil,
my cars not that early but certainly in 1966 if you ordered a black moggy it came with a cream grille.

Wal

A 1954 Series 2 in black should have a grey grille. According to Ray Newell's 'Original Morris Minor' book, the most common grey used was Birch Grey. All other body colours have the grille painted the same as the rest of the front panel (and car). Black was the special case.

Incidently, the wheels should be painted body colour and not a contrasing colour as used on the later Minor 1000s

That is what it is SUPPOSED to be, but it's entirely up to you as to what you think looks best for you on your car

Thanks . I didn't think a black grill looked right . I think it looks better with cream wheels as well
