Check that the earth is ok for the lamp. Does the sidelight work ok?

it's either lack of power or a bad earth ,try the earth first ,run a lead from the light to a good earth ,then come back here

Try undoing the bullet connectors that go to the indicator lamp and clean the bullets with a piece of emery or wet and dry paper. Or if the female connector is dodgy (they can break internally) replace it with a new one.
ALso check the bulb holder itself is not corroded where the bulb fits.

Most likely is the bulb holder -if the bulb itself is ok.
