fuel pump contacts

Hi, my car has a fuel pump with twin contacts, but ive got a spare in the boot with only a single contact, will that spare still work on my 71 car?

can you put twin contacts on a pump that presently has only a single? im thinking that as esm and bull only have twin contact points available.
