hi i amgoing to remove my old roof lining- and cheng new one -problem is how to remove back glas of car and how to set roof linlng of MM 1000 -1957-4 Door

sorry i cant undestand - dose not must remove back glas for remove to the rooflining and set new roof lining ?

Apparently you can do it without removing the back window, but I think it will make it 10 times easier if you do remove it, which means you will most likely need a new window seal (read previous topics about the difficulty of fitting the new rear window seal). No need to touch any other windows.

I, coincidentally, have just done it. Since I didn't need the seal anymore (and I am respraying the car), I just cut the seal with a stanley knife around every inch and levered the 'lip' off the seal so that the seal was behind the window frame. I just did this to around half of the rubber then slid the window out. There is probably a more graceful way of doing it, I'm sure someone will be along with that way soon!

If you want to keep the seal in the car, you can get away with heating the seal (with a hairdryer or similar) so it is easier to move and slipping the hooks of the roof lining in the window frame, but I expect that's a good way to rip the lining before it is even in. Best to take the window seal out.

Sandun - the headlining is a VERY difficult job to do properly - and the back window is an absolute NIGHTMARE to refit. Think long and hard before starting this job.....

Did mine about 7 years ago. I cut out the rear rubber and used a new one when refitting. The thing I found most difficult was getting the cable that runs along each side of the headlining level, with no wrinkles in the headlining.
For refitting the rear screen I just soaked the new rubber in hot soapy water, ran cord around the inside, got a friend to push from the outside whilst I slide the cord over the lip. It slid in with only a few bleeped words.
