As per title i really want to re-build an engine then eventually replace my current traveller one, which has seen better days!

Ideally i don't really want to have to pay some of the crazy prices on Fleebay but if someone does have on taking up that vital garage space then i can provide some local tipple or something!

Doesn't have to be running because the main idea of the exercise is to learn how to make said engine run in the 1st place

I don't have a spare engine lying around, but I'm in the process of re-building one at the moment and I'm not far from you. I've been using Scholar Engines just down the A140 to do the cylinder re-bore and crankshaft grinding. Please PM me if you need more info.

It's a great idea to get hold of a scrap engine and pull it apart to see how it all fits together. That's what I did in my youth! Keep looking on E-bay 'cos not all 1098/948 engines go for silly prices. Have seen them for as little as £30. Also, try your local branch as often members have two or three 'tired' engines kicking around.Good luck
