Might be a decent quality then...
That's about the price a proper minor parts supplier would charge for a recon engine.
I'd be surprised if companies can do them for any less without cutting corners.

You could rebuild you own for less, but once the lions have had their share...

Oh dear - The 'eninge' (sic) has been 'striped' (sic) it's been reconditioned by an 'Enginnering' (sic) company. The head has 'hardend' (sic) seats and new 'exhuast' (sic) valves, and the inlets have been 'redone' - search me...

It has a new 'timming' (sic) chain fitted (no mention of the very necessary new sprockets) -although it does say 'kit' whatever that means... The camshaft has been re-profiled! (A disaster in waiting - it will be through the hardening

) and no mention of new followers, and it has the new 'centre' (sic) rockers fitted - presumably 'sintered' is intended - not as good as the original pressed steel rockers! Also crazy story about fitting the backplate to ensure no leaks from the oil pump...... None of this exactly inspires confidence!!

Caveat emptor...........
