Large disklok, highly visible and just about unnickable.
Fiddly to get on and off but with practice ok, worth your £80.00 and powder and shot.
Wont stop people nicking valuables though.Only 240v does that.

There are alarm systems on the market. Combine that with a disclock/crooklock and you'll have the perfect combination of visible deterrent and actual security.

Seems that the Large Disklok is used by a few Members.

So - I ordered a Large one for my 1970 8-cwt van, although my measurements taken from the steering wheel suggested a Medium would do the trick.

The supplier has, though, sent a Medium one by mistake. And my van is garaged 15 miles away so I cannot conveniently check whether the Medium will fit, albeit a little snugly.

So, in short, is there anyone out there who uses successfully a Medium Disklok on a Minor 1000 with the latest-style two-spoke steering wheel?

Basically any krooklok will suffice as a visual deterrent, and in a jiffy you can remove some gubbins from the car to completely immobilise it.

The Disklok, though, generally reckoned to be the best physical deterrent against theft of a motor vehicle, completely encapsulates the steering wheel. So, size is all-important. Other Krooklok types are fairly easily overcome by cutting through the steering wheel.

Can't tell you if a medium will fit, but can tell you a standard minor steering wheel is 16.5 inches diameter. So measure your disklok!

Remove all the wheel nuts and take them w/you. 8) 8)
Just remember to put them all back on, tightened properly, before driving away. :D :D :D

Thanks, Chris!

16.5" equates to 41.91 cm. The Medium Disklok fits wheels up to 41.5 cm.

This is why I ordered a Large one, but am thinking perhaps that I'd get away without the faff of changing it, by using the Medium one they sent me!

I've a feeling ,though, that I am going to be disappointed and the Medium one just ain't gonna fit!! :(

Only a large disklok will fit, there classed as transit size. you can get them in silver or yellow, yellow disloks seem to flake and chip easier, silver ones seem more duable probably because they are laquered. They are heavy and big to use but do the job. :) will fit in passneger foot well when not in use and fill it lol

Doubtless the Disklok is the best, but bear in mind the early steering wheels are pretty fragile and will probably get damaged with repeated use. One would hope that somebody hacking through a steering wheel would arouse the suspicions of a passer-by who would take action.

I would hope a passer by would intervene but sadly in todays world, many would turn a blind eye... :(

This is another option that wraps around the clutch and brake pedals

Another thought I had after recently working on my brakes;---I had finished all except bleeding the system, so as a precaution I wrote a note saying no brakes and put it on the steering wheel. Maybe this could be done when parking, with the added words--rac/aa on their way.
