There is a press stud in the boot in the middle of the seat, pop that off and the seat will pull forward. At the bottom of the seat there are two guides, you need to lift it up out of them after pulling the seat forward.
Thats how it fits in my saloon....

Hi Pete,
Mine has two wing-nut headed bolts in the top corners, viewing in from the boot.
These screw into some captive threads in the back of the seat back.
Once undone I have lift out of the guides, as mentioned before by 'Trickydicky'.
How is the restoration going by the way. I see you are onto the passenger side sill now.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Beyond belief! As you say, whoever was responsible for this is a complete bodge merchant! (Though I'm sure you have some other more choice descriptive words for them, not publishable on here..............
Hopefully this is the last of the worst of it.
