Dear All ,
could I urge you all to visit the association of car enthusiats website(
http://www.the-ace.org.uk/armageddon/)and read what they have to say about the latest EU proposal being sneaked into law which will affect anyone with an interest in classic vehicles not just modifiers. This will include every Minor with Radial tyres! This is not a consultaion and will become law if not opposed.
Please read and spread the word.

May i urge people to calm down over this, yes europe has gone about it the wrong way but do they ever do it the correct way anyway. I've spoken with a contact i have within VoSA and an MoT Inspector, they both said almost the same thing, that like for like modifications i e discs, tyres (x ply for radiul) 1275 engines 5 speed boxs and things wont be affected as it's not a change or modification of structure it would be looked upon as a retrofiting of simillar equipment. It is also up to the member state as to wether historic/classic vehicles are tested and as we know 28/11/12 is the end of MoTs for pre 60's cars and bikes (not the right move to make but who are we anyway). Yes ok the the moggie was never fitted with disc brakes but it's looked at as a like for like change. What do you think will happen when you can't get brake shoes anymore or other parts stop being produced, we have to scrap the cars because we can't fit non stanard parts. What is being said is that if the structure is modified from original, tube frame front chassis Jag rear axle a V8 and so on, or say you fit a twin cam, then that is detracting from original or another way heavily modified will be affected.

As C8Dave has already stated, this has been well covered
here. Comments would be best served on that thread, where many comments from both sides of the fence have been made.
