Car Covers

Can anyone recommend a good all weather car cover that fits. Not a lover of them but needs must and there are so many to choose from it would help to know what has workrd for people.

The wrong type of cover can cause more harm than not using one in the 1st place and it's very important to get one that 'breathes' allowing moisture out.

However even those should be removed on a regular basis when it's dry to allow air to circulate. Something like this: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/The-Cover-Fact ... 34.c0.m322

Hi, I'm new on here. Not yet a club member, but thinking about it - not yet a Minor owner, but thinking about it. In the past, I've had a 2 door saloon, a van, a pickup and a traveller. They were'nt classics then - just everday vehicles. I always had a soft spot for moggies, so maybe, just maybe.......

Any way, I'm getting off the point. A company in Bradford W.Yorks, called Pro-tec make breathable heavy-duty covers. I've had a cover for a campervan and two for classic motorbikes and they were excellent - pricy, but really good. They make mainly covers for caravans, but will make covers for just about anything. I see from their website www.caravancovers.org.uk that they are also offering covers from Covercraft - don't know about these - I would go for their covers made in Protex 003, the green ones.

I can vouch for the Halford's one I bought about 3 years ago - in use every day, breathable, getting a bit worn now but still keeps the rain off. Cost £50 back then.

You were lucky.....does it get any sunlight? My Stormforce Cover was only used in the summer months - for about 3 months, then the following year it failed miserably after one more month use. Complete and utter waste of £100+. Seems I shouldn't have had it 'in the sun'..........

It's out in all weathers including sun - infact I sometimes put it on the car to protect the seats from sun damage.

I have used the stormforce type for a couple of years now and its been very good, it is breathable with vents, others have commented in the past negative and positive experiences with this make. I have also used the cheaper halfords type on my modern which is fine in the winter. I like the stormforce one on my minor because it is a tailored fit and the securing straps work well. Obviously a garage or car port is better but a cover in my opinion is better than nothing

no! ive just bought two off these, one for my saloon and one for my van. van still garage so not needed as yet but have put my saloon one on.... hope its last longer then a few months as feel they are expensive! also my saloon one seems a very tight fit and the bonnet handle badge seems to be put alot of pressure on the cover at the front, me thinks this will wear through the cover over time, wont be a problem with the van cover as has a flash badge not a handle so doesnt stick up like the saloon handle badge.

I've had 2 stormforce covers , one of them bought 3 years ago and is only used in bad weather is still like new. The other is 5 years old and has been on my saloon everytime its wheels stop moving which must be 23 hours out of every 24 and is only now getting to the gaffer tape stage.

I found with my Stormforce cover that it was leaving rub marks on the paintwork at the front of the roof and the wing edges - got rid of it and built a carport and ordered a lightweight soft waterproof cover for the Winter.

might I ask where you got the lightweight waterproof winter cover? and how much it cost?
